Kathleen Lake Cabin (Tongass National Forest, Admiralty Island) is reached only by floatplane, about a 30-minute flight from Juneau; normally ice-free mid-May through November. The primitive cabin costs $25/night and has an outside toilet, oil stove, and wooden bunks for six.

Fishing Lake Kathleen

Anglers will find Kathleen Lake to be a scenic setting for catching a variety of fish including rainbow trout, Dolly Varden and northern pike. The remote site offers a scenic setting for fishing and boating. Visitors are welcome to use the skiff with oars available at the cabin.

What to watch for

Brown bears are in abundance in the area. In fall, winter, and early spring, the lake may be inaccessible due to frozen lake surface. Visitors must bring personal floatation devices. A permit is required for any activity on corporation land, and entry without a permit will be considered trespassing.
