CPW says it holds the highest density of lake trout in the state. fed by abundant Mysis shrimp and complex bottom habitat; annual gillnet surveys from 2018-2021 found lake trout catches ranging from 3.7 to 78.8 fish per survey and rainbow trout from 10.3 to 45.2. At up to 7,250 acres with 40 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 220 feet. Lake Granby is one of Colorado's largest coldwater reservoirs. with considerable year-to-year variation.
