IDFG lists boat ramps and docks, restrooms, campgrounds, and handicap-accessible areas around the lake, with no motor restrictions. The lake stretches nearly 50 miles from Sandpoint to Idlewilde Bay at Farragut State Park.

About Lake Pend Oreille
produced the 1947 state-record 37-pound rainbow and is rebounding today with 20-plus-pound fish common. The world-record bull trout, 32 pounds, also came from here. with depths exceeding 1,170 feet and 144 miles of shoreline across Bonner and Kootenai counties. At 92,764 acres, Lake Pend Oreille is Idaho's largest lake and one of the deepest in the country. Its Kamloops strain of Gerrard rainbow trout, stocked starting in 1941 and now self-sustaining.
Bull trout are protected here and targeted fishing for them isn't allowed; any caught incidentally should be returned.
