Reid Lake fishing

Reid Lake sits inside a roughly 3,000-acre foot-travel area of the Huron-Manistee National Forest, closed to motor vehicles since 1975. A 13-mile trail rings Reid and Little Trout Lakes past Big Marsh, with 9 first-come, first-served campsites reached via the M-72 or Little Trout trailheads.

What to watch for

Visitors should use caution and know before they go, as winter storm impacts can affect the Huron Zone of the Forests. Trails around Reid Lake range from easy to more difficult, and in winter, they are open for back-country skiing but are not groomed.
