A four-lane concrete boat ramp serves the lake, which is no-wake and open only to non-motorized boating, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, and trolling-speed fishing. No lake-use fees are required, though campground fees apply.

Walleye, bass, crappie, catfish, sunfish, and trout live at Cochiti. Boats must stay at no-wake speed. You can paddle, sail, windsurf, kayak, or troll slowly. Cochiti and Tetilla Peak units split public access on the pueblo reservation.
