About Pyramid Lake

Pyramid Lake holds Lahontan cutthroat in Summit and Pilot Peak strains. Pilot Peak fish often pass 20 pounds. The world-record Lahontan cutthroat weighed 41 pounds here in 1925. Old accounts describe fish over 80 pounds. The lake is the only home of endangered Cui-ui sucker. This terminal desert lake on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation is fed by the Truckee River about 35 minutes from Reno.
