Fishing Black River

The Black River is a 125-mile-long blackwater river that empties into Lake Ontario. It offers abundant trout, salmon, bass, and pike, with salmon being the most favored catch. This Adirondack brook trout stream receives a good stocking from both the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Essex County Fish Hatchery, with the state adding nearly 1,000 yearling brook trout and the county adding 900 fish. There are no special regulations on this water.
