What to watch for

Within the Five Ponds Wilderness Area, there are "extremely difficult traveling conditions" due to "crisscrossing blowdown" with "bushes, small trees and witch-hobble grown up through." The significant "blowdowns of 1950 and 1995 did considerably more damage" to the wilderness, creating these hazards.
