About Canyon Lake
Largemouth bass are the top sport fish at Canyon Lake. White bass and stocked striped bass give strong open-water fishing. Channel, blue, and flathead catfish run in good numbers. A low-density smallmouth group persists from 1970s-80s stockings. Canyon Lake is an 8,308-acre USACE highland lake on the Guadalupe River in Comal County.
Zebra mussels have invaded Canyon Lake; clean, drain, and dry boats, trailers, and livewells before traveling to another water.
