City of Aurora reservoir built in 1989 for drinking water and recreation. Boat ramp at the marina; a day pass or annual pass is required to enter. The courtesy dock has been unreliable in recent low water years, so call ahead before hauling a boat.

Aurora Reservoir offers many opportunities for fishermen. It has recently become a reputable fishing spot, particularly for Trout, Walleye and Catfish. The reservoir gained attention when the record for the largest catfish caught in Colorado was set there in October 2010.
