At the south end of South Platte Park between Littleton and Columbine Valley. Handicapped accessible fishing access along the banks, a paved loop trail, and three parking lots, but no boating or watercraft of any kind. Free entry, no restrooms at the lake.

How Blackrock Lake is stocked
Bear Creek Lake (7.9 mi), Cherry Creek Reservoir (11.1 mi), and Rocky Mountain Lake (14.8 mi) were stocked more recently.
Fishing Blackrock Lake
Blackrock Lake occupies the southern end of South Platte Park, where fishing is its main activity. The lake holds a mix of warm-water species including bass and panfish, and trout from the adjacent South Platte River occasionally wander in from Chatfield Reservoir upstream. It rewards patient anglers willing to work the banks, as worms and small lures produce the most consistent results. The lake offers handicapped-accessible fishing access.

What to watch for
Fishing can be slow, so set realistic expectations. Parking lots fill quickly on weekends, and weekend reservations may be required. No restrooms or water are directly at the lake. Limited shade is found along portions of the trail. Blackrock Lake has no swimming, and no boating or motorized watercraft are permitted.
What anglers say
According to angler Jimmy Flores, while Blackrock Lake does not offer the best fishing, fish are present, including trout in the Platte that can be caught with a worm.
