USFS campground on Sheriff Reservoir in the Flat Tops area, about 15 miles west of Yampa via County Road 17/132 and FS Road 959. Five tent sites, vault toilet, no potable water, $14/night. Lake is carry-in only for canoes, belly boats, and kayaks; stocked with rainbow, cutthroat, and brook trout.

Fishing Sheriff Reservoir
Sheriff Reservoir offers fabulous lake and stream fishing, with fish species including Rainbow Trout, Colorado River Cutthroat Trout, and Brook Trout. The lake is easily accessible from the campground, accommodating canoes, belly boats, paddle boards, kayaks, and non-motorized fishing boats for angling.

What to watch for
Due to snow, the campground area is typically not reachable by vehicle until the middle of June and is snowed in typically by mid-October, which affects access for fishing.
