Newburgh Lake is a Middle Rouge River mill impoundment inside Wayne County's Hines Park. A small boat launch and fishing piers sit off Hines Drive near Newburgh Road in Livonia; restrooms are open year-round.

Fishing Newburgh Lake

Newburgh Pointe is located on the shores of Newburgh Lake. This 152-acre lake is a great place for fishing bluegill, bass and other pan fish. The lake was originally constructed as a millpond. Fishing piers are available on all four lakes in Hines Park.

What to watch for

The entire park is a floodplain, and portions of Hines Park are regularly closed to the public during heavy rains. This flooding is by design.
