How Rice Lake is stocked

The first plant of the year usually falls in the fourth week of August. In 1991 it was October 17, 1991, later than usual.

About 40 reported fish per acre, 9th most of 11 lakes in Houghton County with both a fish count and a surface area.

Portage Lake (12.1 mi), Lake Gratiot (15.2 mi), Lac La Belle (19.5 mi), and Eliza Lake (20.5 mi) were stocked more recently. Lake Gratiot is also stocked with Tiger Muskie and Lac La Belle is also stocked with Tiger Muskie.
