Fishing Swan River

Swan River, located in Suffolk County, New York, supports a recreational fishery of county-level significance. This relatively clean, cold, free-flowing freshwater stream provides habitat suitable for natural reproduction by brook trout above Swan Lake, supporting one of Long Island's wild populations. Additionally, concentrations of sea-run brown trout are present in the tidal segment below Montauk Highway during their fall spawning period, from September to November.
