Public access is only through Sand Hollow State Park, off the Hurricane exit on I-15 north of St. George. The park has a campground with full hookups and showers. The reservoir sees heavy water-sports traffic (ski boats, jet skis) in warm months, so early mornings are the quieter time to fish it.

Other places to fish at Sand Hollow Reservoir

Sand Hollow State Park

The only public access point to the reservoir; includes a campground with full hookups and showers. (monsterbass.com, accessed September 25, 2026)

North side dam

Recommended for shore fishing: sun-warmed rocks attract baitfish, and bass follow, according to a bass-fishing report. (krakenbass.com, accessed September 25, 2026)

Submerged rock ledges

Deep-water ledges where bass congregate in winter; a float-and-fly rig with a suspending minnow bait worked 20-30 feet down is the top winter technique here, per the same report. (krakenbass.com, accessed September 25, 2026)
