Colorado River District reservoir on Muddy Creek about five miles north of Kremmling. Boat ramp and main dock open 7am-7pm, May 15 to Oct 15, $10 day-use fee per vehicle. Wolford Campground has electric and non-electric sites plus restrooms. Good rainbow, brown, and kokanee fishing.

How Wolford Mountain Reservoir is stocked

Fishing Wolford Mountain Reservoir
Wolford Mountain Reservoir offers lake and stream fishing within the Wolford Mountain Recreation Area. The reservoir provides good fishing for rainbow and brown trout, kokanee salmon and a few other assorted species. The tailwater section of Muddy Creek below the dam also offers rainbow and brown trout fishing on publicly accessible lands. Wolford Mountain Reservoir is home to the only known reservoir dwelling population of roundtail chub in Colorado.

What to watch for
Boats must pass an Aquatic Nuisance Species inspection before launching at Wolford Mountain Reservoir. Vessels with standing water may require up to an hour for decontamination and incur a $25 fee. Fishing and public access are prohibited within 150 feet of any kokanee spawning trap or wing net from October 1 to December 1. The reservoir can also be frozen, as observed in April.

According to biologists, they are hopeful that the cash incentive program for northern pike is having the desired impact of reducing the numbers of illegally introduced northern pike.
