Excellent bank access at Bowman Dam, Salt Creek Road south shore, the paved road to Prineville Reservoir State Park, and the unimproved north-shore road from the Post-Paulina Highway. Ramps at Powderhouse Cove near the dam, County Ramp to Jasper Point, and an earthen ramp at Roberts Bay.

At the base of the Ochoco Mountains about 15 miles south of Prineville on the Crooked River. Prineville Reservoir tops 3,000 acres when full behind Bowman Dam. with levels swinging for irrigation and flood control.
