GWNF's Sherando Lake Recreation Area's 7-acre Upper Lake is fishing-only (no swimming), stocked each spring and fall. No boat launch, hand-carry only; park below the group camp area and walk the trail in. Stuarts Draft is about 15 minutes away.

Fishing Upper Sherando Lake
Fishing only is available at the 7 acre Upper Lake. This lake is also stocked during the spring and fall seasons. Boats are allowed, but there is no launch access; hand-carry is required. Parking is available at a small area below the group camp area, and a walking trail leads to the lake.

There is no boat ramp available for the Upper Lake, which means all boats must be hand-carried for launch. Only electric trolling motors, canoes, kayaks, or similar boats are allowed on the lake.
