Fishing Lake Gilead

Lake Gilead, a smaller NYC DEP reservoir in the Town of Carmel, offers great fishing for both warm and coldwater fish species. It is stocked every spring with brown, rainbow, and lake trout. Anglers have success trolling spoons and plugs for trout in its deep clear water. The lake also has a great weed edge, providing solid action for largemouth bass, chain pickerel, and panfish.
