Big Muskego Lake has two public concrete ramps in the City of Muskego (Boxhorn Launch and a second nearby site), both with portable toilets, docks, and a $7 daily launch fee (2017 rates). One dock has a fully ADA-accessible route, the other doesn't.

Big Muskego Lake is a popular site for fishing, with noted populations of largemouth bass, panfish, and northern pike. The lake covers approximately 2,260 acres, the vast majority of which is shallow water with a depth under 4 feet. The lake itself has a max depth of 8 feet and an average depth of 3 feet, while the connected embayment of Bass Bay has a max depth of 23 feet.
