Fishing Ashokan Reservoir

Ashokan Reservoir offers recreational fishing opportunities for both coldwater and warmwater fish. The reservoir is stocked with over 16,000 brown trout every spring. These trout supplement a wild population of both Brown and Rainbow Trout that move between the reservoir and the upper Esopus Creek. The reservoir is home to various fish species including Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch, and Black Crappie.
