Fishing Lake Ontario

Lake Ontario supports an important freshwater fishery. However, this fishery has been negatively affected by factors including overfishing, water pollution, and invasive species. The unique Z-shaped Bay of Quinte, which separates Prince Edward County from the Ontario mainland, supports many wetlands and aquatic plants, as well as associated fisheries.
