Fishing Lake Pleasant

Lake Pleasant historically served as fishing grounds, with many historians believing it was utilized by both Mohawk and Algonquin tribes. These Native Americans would travel to the Adirondack Mountains to hunt only during the warm months. Old Capt. Gill, a trail guide, would also show first settlers places to hunt and fish. The first settlers found "numerous lakes and streams full of fish" awaiting them in the area.
