Fishing Blind Sodus Bay

Blind Sodus Bay was annually stocked with fingerling Walleyes. Since 2003, the stocking policy calls for bi-annual plantings of fingerling Walleyes. Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Sunfish, and Yellow Perch can be caught during the open water seaso. In most years, the early spring fishing for Yellow Perch, Brown Bullhead, and White Perch can be very good. Good Northern Pike and Yellow Perch fishing is available through the ice when safe ice develops.

What to watch for

The bay shoreline is shallow with extensive beds of submersed, floating, and emergent aquatic vegetation. The nuisance invasive submergents Eurasian Watermilfoil and Curly Leaf Pondweed have been found in the bay. Ice fishing is only possible through the ice when safe ice develops.
