Fishing Owasco Lake
Owasco Lake contains a variety of fish species, including lake trout, brown trout, and rainbow trout. Anglers can also find landlocked salmon, largemouth bass, and smallmouth bass. Other species present are northern pike, yellow perch, bluegill, pumpkinseed sunfish, rock bass, black bullhead, pickerel, and walleye. Access to the lake is available through a fee-for-use county-owned hard surface boat launch located in the park.

What to watch for
Owasco Lake is especially vulnerable to nutrient loading from stormwater run-off because it has the largest catchment area of all the Finger Lakes. Additionally, sewage treatment effluent from two communities flows into the lake.
